Washington Twp, NJ – One Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Rte 31

Washington Twp, NJ (November 24, 2025) – On Sunday, November 23,  emergency crews responded to a serious motor vehicle accident with entrapment on Route 31 in front of the Dairy Queen in Washington Township.

The crash was reported around 3:00 p.m., when Medic 2 arrived on scene and found a two-vehicle collision with one person trapped inside a vehicle. Due to the severity of the situation, a medevac helicopter was initially requested to fly to the scene.

Advanced Life Support units worked quickly to extricate the trapped individual. By approximately 3:02 p.m., ALS crews successfully freed the patient and awaited the arrival of a Basic Life Support unit for transport.

A few minutes later, at around 3:10 p.m., BLS and ALS personnel began transporting one patient to a nearby trauma center for additional medical care. Because the patient could be transported by ground ambulance, the medevac helicopter was cancelled.

Authorities have not yet released additional details about the cause of the crash. The incident remains under investigation.

We hope the injured individual makes a full and quick recovery.

Compensation After a Car Crash in New Jersey

Compensation after a car crash in New JerseyOne Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Rte 31 helps injured victims manage the physical, emotional, and financial consequences of an unexpected collision. Because New Jersey follows a no-fault insurance system, most claims begin with Personal Injury Protection (PIP). This coverage pays for medical expenses, lost wages, and certain essential services regardless of who caused the accident. PIP ensures that injured individuals receive medical care promptly, but it does not compensate for all types of damages or long-term losses.

When a crash results in serious, permanent, or disabling injuries, victims may qualify to step outside the no-fault system and pursue a liability claim against the at-fault driver. This type of claim allows victims to seek damages that PIP does not cover, including pain and suffering, emotional distress, diminished quality of life, and full lost wages. To succeed in a liability claim, the victim must typically prove that the other driver acted negligently, for example, by speeding, driving distracted, or running a traffic signal.

New Jersey accident victims may be entitled to several categories of compensation. Economic damages include medical bills, rehabilitation costs, lost income, future earning potential, and property damage. Non-economic damages compensate for intangible losses, such as physical pain, emotional distress, and the long-term impact of injuries on daily activities, relationships, and overall well-being. In cases involving extreme misconduct, such as drunk driving, victims may also be able to pursue punitive damages, which are intended to punish the wrongdoer.

Several factors influence the value of a car accident claim, such as injury severity, the duration of medical treatment, insurance policy limits, and whether the injuries meet New Jersey’s verbal threshold for filing a lawsuit. Strong evidence, including medical documentation, witness statements, crash reports, and photos, helps demonstrate the full extent of the victim’s injuries and financial losses.

If you or someone you love has been involved in a car accident in New Jersey, understanding your legal rights is essential. A car accident attorney can help investigate the incident, determine fault, and seek compensation for medical bills, lost income, and pain and suffering. Legal support can be especially crucial when accidents involve entrapment or require a significant emergency response.
