Vineland, NJ – One Killed, Others Injured in E Landis Ave Crash

Vineland, NJ (August 24, 2025) – A Sunday morning turned tragic in Vineland when a man lost his life in a violent head-on crash.

At about 6:50 a.m. on August 24, authorities said 72-year-old Efrain DeLatorre-Valdesp of Vineland was driving east on East Landis Avenue. An SUV coming from the west suddenly crossed into his lane and hit his car head-on. The impact was devastating.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene and fought to save Mr. DeLatorre-Valdesp’s life. Despite their efforts, he died at the scene.

The driver of the SUV, a 51-year-old Vineland man, suffered injuries and was taken to a local hospital. His passenger, a 54-year-old man, sustained more serious injuries and required emergency transport to Cooper University Hospital in Camden.

The crash left both vehicles heavily damaged and debris scattered across the roadway. First responders worked to secure the scene and assist the injured victims. At this time, the incident remains under police investigation.

We extend our deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Efrain DeLatorre-Valdesp. Our thoughts are also with those injured, and we wish them a speedy recovery.

Fatal Car Accidents in New Jersey

Crashes like this one are devastating reminders of how fragile life is on New Jersey roads. More than 600 people lose their lives in traffic accidents every year, leaving behind grieving families and communities searching for answers.

Deadly collisions often trace back to the same dangerous behaviors:

  • Distracted Driving: A moment on a phone or GPS can turn deadly.
  • Speeding: Higher speeds magnify the impact of every crash.
  • Impaired Driving: Alcohol and drugs remain major causes of preventable deaths.
  • Driver Fatigue: Drowsy drivers have slower reactions and often cross into oncoming lanes

Each reckless decision risks innocent lives and, as in this case, can end in tragedy within seconds.

Nothing can take away the pain of losing someone you love. But New Jersey law gives families a way to seek justice after a crash. A wrongful death claim can provide important support by covering medical bills, funeral costs, and lost income. It also recognizes the deep emotional pain families carry every day.
