Newfield, NJ (August 25, 2025) – On Sunday morning, August 24, a 35-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash while jogging in Gloucester County, according to Franklin Township police.
Authorities said McKeon C. McKeon-Fish, of Newfield, was jogging southbound on the 300 block of Madison Avenue shortly after 8:00 a.m. when a vehicle struck him from behind. Emergency crews responded, but, sadly, McKeon-Fish died at the scene.
Police identified the driver as Emmanuel Anakwah, 36, of Newfield. Investigators said Anakwah briefly stopped at the crash site before fleeing. He later called the police at approximately 8:28 a.m. to report that he had been involved in a crash on Madison Avenue.
Officers located Anakwah parked on the 300 block of Catawba Avenue in Newfield, where he was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and was later released pending a court appearance.
The Franklin Township Police Department and the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office are continuing to investigate the incident. Authorities noted that additional charges may be filed as the investigation progresses.
Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the victim, and we hope he rests in peace.
