Scooter Injuries in New Jersey Accidents

Motorized scooters have become increasingly popular in New Jersey, providing a quick and eco-friendly mode of transportation. However, riders are vulnerable on the road, and accidents can cause serious harm.

Common injuries in scooter crashes include:

  • Head injuries: Collisions often throw riders onto hard surfaces, causing concussions or traumatic brain injuries. Helmets can reduce but not fully prevent these injuries.

  • Broken bones: Arms, legs, and ribs are vulnerable in scooter crashes, especially when a rider tries to break a fall or is struck directly.

  • Spinal cord injuries: A severe impact to the back or neck can damage the spinal cord, sometimes resulting in long-term mobility issues.

  • Facial injuries: Contact with the ground or a vehicle can cause cuts, broken noses, or dental damage.

  • Internal injuries: Force from a collision can injure organs, which may require urgent medical treatment.

  • Soft tissue damage: Strains, sprains, and torn ligaments are common after a fall from a scooter.

  • Road rash: Sliding on pavement can cause painful abrasions that may become infected if not treated properly.
