Burlington County, NJ (September 21, 2025) – A devastating three-vehicle crash left a 1-year-old child critically injured on Saturday, September 20, in Burlington County. The collision happened around 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of Route 70 and Locust Avenue.
Authorities said a tractor-trailer ran through a red light and slammed into two vehicles. One of the vehicles struck was a minivan carrying the toddler. The impact caused life-threatening injuries.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene and provided immediate care before transporting the child to Cooper University Hospital in Camden. As of Sunday, the child remained in critical condition. Another person involved sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
All drivers remained at the site and cooperated with authorities. Route 70 was closed for several hours as officers examined the crash site, documented evidence, and spoke with witnesses. The investigation is ongoing.
Our hearts are with the child and their family, and we wish them strength and healing during this difficult time.
Multi-Vehicle Accidents in New Jersey
Multi-vehicle crashes are among the most dangerous accidents on New Jersey roads. With several cars or trucks colliding at once, the chance of severe injuries rises dramatically. Victims are often innocent drivers, passengers, or children who had no way to avoid the impact.
These accidents often happen because of careless driving. Running red lights, speeding, or using a phone behind the wheel are common causes. Tractor-trailers add even more danger. Because of their massive size and weight, a single truck crash can trigger a chain reaction that leaves multiple families devastated.

The injuries from these collisions can be life-changing. Victims may suffer traumatic brain injuries, broken bones, spinal cord damage, or internal bleeding. Children are especially vulnerable because their bodies cannot absorb the force of impact like adults. Survivors often need extended hospital care, surgeries, or months of rehabilitation. Families are left facing overwhelming medical bills, lost income, and the emotional strain of recovery.
