Fatal Pedestrian Accidents in New Jersey
Pedestrian fatalities remain a serious concern across New Jersey. Crashes such as the one abovementioned often happen during the early morning or late-night hours when darkness reduces visibility. Fatigue, distraction, impairment, and excessive speed all increase the likelihood of deadly collisions.
High-traffic roads like Route 1 in Edison pose even greater risks. Multiple lanes of fast-moving traffic, poor lighting, and limited pedestrian crossings make safe travel nearly impossible for those on foot. Even cautious pedestrians can face life-threatening danger when drivers fail to notice them in time.
When someone dies in a pedestrian crash, families not only endure heartbreaking grief but also face sudden financial challenges. Funeral expenses, medical bills, and the loss of future income can quickly overwhelm loved ones.
Families affected by pedestrian crash fatalities may pursue a wrongful death claim. This can provide compensation for funeral expenses, lost wages, emotional distress, and other damages. Working with a compassionate Edison wrongful death attorney can help families understand their legal rights and hold at-fault parties accountable.
