Egg Harbor Twp, NJ (July 20, 2025) – On Thursday, July 17, a teenage cyclist was killed in an auto accident in the area of Egg Harbor Township. The deadly crash took place on the Maryland Avenue bike path late that night at around 7:58 p.m. The victim was riding a bicycle when they were struck by an oncoming motorist.
The driver was later identified as a 47-year-old woman from Philadelphia, and there were three children in the car at the time of the impact. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to the scene, and the teenage rider was rushed to Atlantic Care Trauma before being airlifted to Cooper Trauma. They were later pronounced dead. No one inside the vehicle was injured as a result of the crash. The area was temporarily closed as local law enforcement officials worked the scene.
